Nature’s Place, known for it’s unique use of animals and nature in therapy since 1997, is expanding it’s educational program to include a continuing education program with an on the job training aspect. Nature’s Place College is accepting applications for it’s Summer 2021 term.
Starting with the Summer term 2021, Nature’s Place will offer limited enrollment in its new program. Students will take classes in English, Reading, and Mathematics, while also learning work skills in assembly/sewing, food service, retail, animal care, and landscaping. Due to small teacher/student ratios class sizes are limited.

Scholarship Project Overview:
Nature’s Place is dedicated to enriching uniquely abled students and understands that everyone has unique strengths and talents. The purpose of this project is to display the student’s abilities and talents in anyway that they feel best promotes their strengths. Selected students will be offered free tuition for the 2021 Summer session at Nature’s Place College.
Standards:
- Student must complete the project with minimal help.
- Student may interpret the theme in any manner they wish.
- Student must present their project with minimal assistance.
Objectives:
- To showcase student’s strengths
- To assess student’s abilities
Project Requirements:
Create a project based on student’s interpretation of the theme
Student must present project at scheduled time at Nature’s Place
Student must answer questions about project as asked by assessment team
2021 Theme:
This year’s theme is: May the Forest Be with You: How I See Trees. Student may interpret the theme of trees in any way that they wish, creativity is encouraged.
Project and Presentation:
Projects may take the form of anything that the student wishes, show your creativity! Make a presentation board, write a story, write a song, draw, paint, craft, bake, etc. The only requirements are that the project reflect this year’s theme and be presented to the assessment team at Nature’s Place at your designated time.
Dates and Deadlines:
Applications must be submitted to Nature’s Place by March 15, 2021. Applicants will be contacted by the first week in April to set a presentation time. All scholarship recipients will be contacted by May 1, 2021.
